Mud Slinging Over Welfare Audit

On May 28th, 2013, State Auditor Suzanne Bump released the official audit of the Department of Transitional Assistance, beginning from July 1st, 2010 until December 21st, 2012. Welfare reform has now become the talk of the town immediately after the reports release, citing millions of dollars in potential fraud. However, Governor Patrick has come out questioning the accuracy of numbers entirely. Bump came out defending the numbers, though. Governor Patrick then admitted there could be criminal charges filed. All the while sequestration cuts hit education, food safety, mental health, Veteran services, homeless programs and more.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with DTA? I’d sure like to know.
