On Sister Act

I have been known to really like Whoopi Goldberg movies, so it’s unsurprising I’d love Sister Act. It’s such a good movie.

Dolores and Vince

The movie followed Dolores van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg), a Reno lounge singer who witnesses her boyfriend, mobster Vince LaRocca, kill his chauffeur Ernie for betrayal. She flees to the police station where Lieutnant Eddie Souther puts her under witness protection so she can testify against Vince once he is arrested, and tried. He places her in custody of the Poor Clares in San Francisco.

I’m glad that it wasn’t me. The idea of taking a vow of poverty, chastity, and obedience sounds way too stringent for the likes of me. I’d just go nuts.

Once Dolores (rather ‘Sister Mary Clearance’) takes over the choir things get really entertaining.
